Name: Kenneth Daigre
Title: Instructional Technology Supervisor
Organization: Port Arthur Independent School District, Texas, USA
In a district with more than 8,000 students and 800 teachers, Kenneth Daigre, Instructional Technology Supervisor at Port Arthur ISD, faced a growing concern shared by educators everywhere: How do we truly engage students in a world that constantly competes for their attention?
Traditional teaching methods, though foundational, were no longer enough to sustain the level of interest and motivation needed in today’s classrooms. Kenneth was searching for something new—something that didn’t just digitize lessons, but revolutionized the very way learning happened. The goal was clear: to motivate students across all grade levels through creativity, movement, and joy, while also empowering teachers to deliver their content in dynamic and flexible ways.
Kenneth knew that in order to make a real difference, he needed a tool that could meet both student and teacher needs—something that could capture the imagination of a five-year-old just beginning their academic journey, while still challenging and engaging a high school student preparing for life beyond graduation.
What he envisioned was a classroom where learning didn’t just happen from the neck up, but involved the whole body. A space where movement wasn’t a distraction, but an integral part of the learning experience. He dreamed of a tool that would excite students the moment they walked into the room—and inspire teachers to think differently about how they design and deliver lessons.
When Port Arthur ISD introduced ActiveFloor, the reaction was immediate and powerful. From the very beginning, it was clear that this wasn’t just another educational tool—it was something altogether different. ActiveFloor offered a fully interactive learning
experience that combined technology, movement, and subject matter in a way that felt natural and deeply engaging.
According to Kenneth, the platform delivered exactly what they had hoped for: innovative applications, pre-built lessons across subjects, and an interactive interface that students couldn’t resist.
Classrooms were instantly transformed.
Students who had once struggled to stay focused were suddenly eager to participate, and teachers who had been searching for new ways to connect with their classes found themselves reinvigorated and full of ideas.
One of the most remarkable outcomes was the sheer enthusiasm the platform generated. Students responded with visible excitement, and that energy spilled over into their performance and motivation to learn. Teachers, on the other hand, appreciated the flexibility of the platform and how easily it could be aligned with their lesson plans. With access to the rich and ever-growing MyFloor game library, they could supplement core content or even create their own custom games—bringing both creativity and curriculum into perfect harmony.
Since integrating ActiveFloor across K–12 campuses, Port Arthur ISD has seen a noticeable shift in the way both students and teachers approach learning. Engagement levels have soared, and there is a growing interest from campuses across the district to expand the number of ActiveFloor units available. Some schools have even begun exploring the possibility of one-to-one classroom setups, where each student would have their own interactive unit, guided by a lead teacher’s main screen.
For Kenneth, the most rewarding part has been watching the ripple effects: students who are more involved, teachers who are more inspired, and an educational environment that feels alive and full of possibility.
When asked if he would recommend ActiveFloor to other schools and districts, Kenneth doesn’t hesitate. He wholeheartedly encourages others to embrace it, highlighting how the platform not only motivates students to learn new concepts but also strengthens their grasp of previously taught material. For him, ActiveFloor is not just a fun add-on to traditional teaching—it’s a strategic, impactful investment in student success and teacher innovation.
As the district looks to the future, Kenneth’s hope is simple: that ActiveFloor continues to evolve, expanding its lesson library and refining its platform to stay at the forefront of educational technology. He sees it as an essential part of any instructional tech ecosystem—one that brings movement, engagement, and joy back into classrooms.
“Keep growing the library and the product,” he says. “ActiveFloor is a great educational tool for instructional technology integration. It’s absolutely the best experience we’ve had with students and teachers.”
