About the Learning Pathway

This learning pathway introduces students to a range of addition strategies, including counting on, partitioning and compensation. Through an interactive presentation, students explore how different strategies can be used to solve addition problems.

Students can then practise these strategies through the games in the playlist. The activities help them develop a flexible approach to addition and recognise which strategy is most useful in different situations.

The learning pathway also includes worksheets and ideas for additional activities to further explore addition strategies and help students understand how different approaches can lead to the same result.
